Horses for Heroes
Independence Day aka the 4th of July is a huge holiday for our company. Not only do we acknowledge all the service men and women who have given us our freedom, but it’s a chance for us to honor our country. In an effort to not only support the US through US based manufacturing (which is Draper Knitting/Draper Therapies), we want to start gearing up for this day by featuring different things that support what Independence Day is all about. Our first post goes to a program called Horses for Heroes, something quite special that gives back to our service men and women.
The Maryland Therapeutic Riding (MTR) Horses for Heroes program is a unique program designed for wounded warriors returning from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Participants are active duty soldiers who are members of the Warriors in Transition Unit stationed at recovery locations in the Washington area.
