Eight years ago when I was introduced to Holofiber, now Celliant, I was a skeptic like everyone. I gave a small piece of development fabric that we had knit to an injured friend who insisted that after only a few hours it relieved her swelling and accelerated her recovery. I started to give it more thought. She insisted that since it worked so well on her, she wanted the benefits for her horse! We did round after round of product testing on her aging horse who responded with both affection and increased performance, as well as her aging Basset hound who found climbing three sets of stairs to work every day a bit easier on his arthritic hips. We were amazed!

I started giving everyone I know pieces of fabric to try, from polo wraps on my sister’s knee replacement to my brother in law, the medic, in Iraq. My son started wrapping his minor hockey and lacrosse injuries in Holofiber/Celliant and was always ready the next day for practice or a game. As the positive feedback continued to come in about decreased swelling and reduced recovery time, it became our mission to bring this holistic option to equine, canine and human markets to help with whatever ailed them.

Draper Knitting, until then was a 150 year old family textile business that had never produced a finished product or sold directly to the public. We started small with the help and expertise of Saratoga Horseworks, (who still helps to design, cut and sew all our equine and canine products) and along the way we learned to cut and sew the less complicated pieces here in our factory. The two most important directives were products that were both the highest quality on the market and made in the USA. We were ready to take our goods to market.

In 2008, the addition of Kat Wojtylak (the face of Draper Therapies) brought us the knowledge of the equine industry and the avenues to get our product into the right hands; this was the real break out point for us. We found professionals willing to test the products and even more importantly to critique the products which helped us make our products better. These willing and amazing people have become the backbone of Draper Therapies, our Advisory Board, a list of people we are very proud to have on our team, standing behind our company and our philosophy.

Our mission never changes but our product line is always evolving. We strive to bring high quality, USA made, holistic options to equine, canine and human markets for all the members of your family.

So from our family to yours, Good health and happiness,

Kristin Draper
